Uniform
At Heatherbrook Primary Academy, we are continually working hard to ensure the best outcomes for our pupils and our school uniform reflects the high expectations that we have for all.
We expect the children at Heatherbrook to wear:
- A white or jade green polo shirt
- Black/ grey trousers or black/grey skirt
- A jade green jumper or sweatshirt (preferably with the school logo)
- Girls are also permitted to wear a green checked dress with a jade green jumper or cardigan
- Plain black shoes or black trainers (trainers must be plain black with no white or coloured logos or soles)
- No jewellery permitted except for plain gold/ silver stud earrings – these must be removed on swimming and PE days
- No acrylic nails or extensions
- PE kit should consist of plain back shorts, with a white or jade green t-shirt and plimsole/ trainers. Jogging bottoms and sweatshirts can be used for outdoor PE in the colder months.
Please ensure that your child/children are wearing the correct school uniform every day. If you need to obtain items of uniform, please contact the school office.
Seasonal adaptations
Learners are expected to attend school in full school uniform at all times, unless otherwise directed by the school.
We take a sensible and flexible approach to uniform during extreme or adverse weather, particularly where the UK Health Security Agency has issued weather-health alerts. On such occasions, temporary adaptations may be made to support learners’ comfort, health, and wellbeing.
We also ensure that our uniform expectations remain suitable and safe for learners who walk or cycle to school. For example, learners may wear appropriate coats or outerwear to help them remain visible when travelling to and from school during darker conditions.
